Sustainability Practices

All WQA Events are planned with sustainability at the forefront. We aim to partner with venues that are environmentally conscious and share similar sustainability goals.

2026 Convention Venue – Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC):

The Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) integrates sustainability into its daily operations, from efficient building systems to community-focused environmental programs. Highlights include:

  • LEED Silver Certification for the full campus.
  • Smart, energy-efficient infrastructure, including LED lighting, advanced HVAC controls, and a reflective roofing design that reduces energy consumption by 20 percent.
  • Comprehensive recycling and composting programs, including food-waste recovery partnerships with local organizations.
  • Water-efficient fixtures throughout the facility to help reduce overall water usage.
  • Sustainable food and beverage initiatives, featuring locally sourced ingredients, reduced-waste service practices, and eco-friendly packaging options.

Working Toward a Zero-Waste Event:

  • Convention name badges are made of sturdy paper rather than plastic, making them recyclable and biodegradable.
  • Typical printed event materials are instead available in the Convention Mobile App to reduce paper usage.
  • A ‘virtual tote bag’ feature is available in the Convention Mobile App to replace physical tote bags full of printed materials.
