Amanda Crangle and the team at Lamplight Digital Media help residential and commercial water treatment companies profitably grow their dealerships using digital marketing. They have worked with over 100 water treatment dealerships spanning North America for a decade. During this time, they’ve managed millions of dollars in ad spend and performed over 3,000 website split tests to better understand the science and psychology of driving water treatment leads. Amanda intimately knows the water industry as she has worked in a dealership as a sales rep and as a general manager. She & her team are passionate about expanding consumer awareness of water quality issues and providing education on final barrier solutions. Amanda lives in Southwest Colorado where she enjoys riding horses, fishing, camping, and most of all, spending time with her two kids and husband.

Mike McGowan is a 3rd Generation Independent Water Conditioning dealer located in Mankato Minnesota. Mike is currently on the WQA Board of Directors and carries the WQA title, Master Water Specialist. Mike has also spent numerous years on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota WQA serving twice as the association’s President he’s also served two terms as the Water Conditioning Director to the Minnesota Plumbing Board. Mike was 2018 recipiant of the WQA Regents Award.

I graduated from Kutztown University. I obtained my CPA license and performed audits for a regional public accounting firm for 6 years. In 2019, I left public accounting and accepted the controller role at Martin Water Company. I serve on our leadership team at church and enjoy mentoring individuals. For leisure, I enjoy spending time with my family, sitting around campfires, watching sports and traveling.

Lisa Stich Marketing Manager, Water Quality Watts Water Technologies Lisa Stich is a marketing professional with over 20 years of experience in the water treatment industry and leading global marketing initiatives for both large and small B2B and B2C brands. Today, she leads integrated marketing campaign and demand generation efforts for Watts Water Technologies’ water quality platforms.

Kimberly Redden has a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from North Central College and Master’s in Public Health from Elmhurst College.

Candice Wentling is the Director of Certified Action, a business advisement and training company. She has been conducting sales training, field coaching, and leadership support for the last 16 years. Her degrees in Business and Social Work lend well to leadership and employee engagement. Within the water treatment industry, Candice has extensive experience working with dealers and manufacturers. She is a Master Water Specialist and active committee member of the Water Quality Association as well as a board member of the EWQA. She has been honored with the EWQA Distinguished Service Award and the WQA Award of Merit. She is best known for her ability to connect management with their salespeople in a candid and energetic manner.

Robert Bilott has gained international prominence in connection with uncovering and disclosing the world-wide impact of environmental contamination by the “forever chemicals” known as PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkylated substances), particularly PFOA and PFOS. To date Rob has secured benefits in excess of $1 billion for a wide array of firm clients adversely impacted by PFAS contamination, including through key leadership positions in the nation’s first class action, personal injury, medical monitoring, and multi-district litigations, and jury trials involving PFAS.

Shannon Murphy Shannon Murphy is VP Business Development & Compliance at Aquamor. Bachelor of Science from Concordia University, Montreal Canada and Masters of Science from Wayne State University, Detroit Michigan. 10 years at NSF International holding various positions within the organization from Program Representative and Assistant Manager in Standard 61, Operations Manager in the DTWU Program and General Manager in the Plumbing Program. 10 years at Watts Water Quality, during this time, worked with State and Federal EPA, Association of State Drinking Water Administrators (ASDWA), Health Canada, State Primacy Agencies, Rural Water Association, AWWA, regional regulatory bodies, engineering firms and directly with small systems and operators across the country in order to develop and oversee successful decentralized Point of Use / Point of Entry programs for small system drinking water compliance. Having worked with several state and regulatory bodies, authored multiple decentralized rules and guidelines which are now currently in use by states to implement, run and verify compliance through decentralized water treatment systems. At Aquamor eight years, remain directly involved with product development, compliance as well as continuing work regarding POE/POU small system compliance tools. Active in WQA and PWQA Legislative Days as well as associated legislative initiatives such as California State Water Resources Control Board SAFER Initiative. Voting member of the NSF Drinking Water Treatment Unit Joint Committee and Industry Forum, Pacific Water Quality Association Past President and current Board Member, former WQA Board of Director, active within and Chairing WQRF research initiatives, WQA and PWQA Legislative Days participant and participant on several WQA industry / association committees, recipient of the WQA Regents Award.

Peter S. Cartwright, PE, Cartwright Consulting Co. Peter entered the water purification and wastewater treatment industry in 1974, and has had his own consulting engineering firm since 1980. He has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and is a registered Professional Engineer in that state. Peter provides engineering expertise in all areas of water and wastewater treatment, as well as market investigations and expert witness expertise. He has authored over 300 articles, written several book chapters, presented more than 300 lectures around the world and have been awarded several patents in the water/wastewater industry. Peter is a recipient of the Award of Merit, Lifetime Member Award and Hall of Fame Award from the Water Quality Association and was the Technical Consultant to the Canadian Water Quality Assn. from 2007 to 2018. He was the 2016 McEllhiney Distinguished Lecturer for the National Groundwater Research and Educational Foundation and presented more than 35 lectures on groundwater treatment technologies worldwide.

Josh Greene, Vice President of Government, Regulatory and Industry Affairs at A. O. Smith began his professional career in 1993 working as a Congressional staffer. Prior to his joining A. O. Smith, he was Partner at the international law firm of Squire Patton Boggs LLP in Washington D.C. At A. O. Smith his primary function is to advocate for the company’s business goals and objectives in front of international, federal, state, and local policy makers and regulators across North America and Europe. He currently serves on the WQA Federal Government Affairs Committee as well as chairing the Clean Water for All Task Force. Josh is also a Award of Merit recipient.

France Lemieux is the Head of the Materials and Treatment Section at Health Canada and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and a Masters’ degree in Civil Engineering -Water Resources. She participates in the development of the Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality, which include considerations for treatment and materials that come into contact with drinking water such as plumbing fittings and treatment device. She is a member of U.S. Canada harmonized committees on plumbing standards and health-based standards for drinking water materials in contact with drinking water. France is currently the chair of the Water Quality Association Public Health Review Board, the Chair of NSF International’s Joint committee on drinking water additives (which include NSF standards 60, 61 and 372), a member of NSF International’s Council of Public Health Consultants and on the Board of Directors for RESEAU-CMI . France has worked in the drinking water area for the the last 25 years and her 34+ year career at Health Canada has included working in in the areas of radiation protection, product safety and pesticides.

Eugene Leung is a Drinking Water Treatment Technical Specialist in the California State Water Resources Control Board, Division of Drinking Water (DDW), Technical Operations Section. He is based at the Richmond, California office and provides technical support to the Division’s district offices statewide. He has been with DDW since June of 1997. He was a Sanitary Engineer and Associate Sanitary Engineer at Santa Clara District and has been in the current position since March 2010. He represents DDW at the NSF Drinking Water Treatment Units (DWTU) Joint Committee and provides technical support to DDW field staff in the implementation of DWTUs. He graduated from UCLA, with BS and MS degrees in Civil & Environmental Engineering. He is also a registered Civil Engineer and a T4 Water Treatment Operator.

Dr. Chad Seidel, Ph. D, P.E. is President at Corona Environmental Consulting, LLC. He brings his more than 20 years of consulting experience serving the drinking water community by providing small and large drinking water utilities with process engineering services, from optimization of existing conventional treatment processes to the application of advanced treatment processes for controlling emerging contaminants. He has been involved in drinking water contaminant occurrence issues throughout his career.

Dr. Zhou is an associate professor of Civil Engineering and Environmental and Ecological Engineering at Purdue University. His research focuses on wastewater treatment, water reuse, water quality, and environmental biotechnologies. His recent projects include point-of-use water filtration systems, antibiotic resistance, cost-effective biofuels, electrochemical filtration, and indirect and direct potable reuse. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (Civil Engineer) in California and a Board Certified Environmental Engineer (BCEE).

David Trueba joined Revive Environmental in January 2023 and serves as President and Chief Executive Officer. David’s 20-year career has been in the allied chemical, materials, and environmental services industries. Prior to joining Revive, he was the Vice President and General Manager of Evoqua’s Pro-Act Environmental Solutions Division, where he led the mobile remediation and granular activated carbon business. He joined Evoqua in 2018 as Regional GM of the high-purity water treatment business in the western region of the US and Canada. Through his career, he held various positions of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing, product line management, purchasing, and lead teams at Adams Rite Aerospace, Entek International, and Celanese. David served on the non-profit board of Young Entrepreneur Business Week (YEBW). He has a M.B.A from the Naveen Jindal School of Management at the University of Texas at Dallas, and a B.S. in Chemistry from Texas A&M University. He holds five patents on process chemistry technology and optimization.

Marc Deshusses is a professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Duke University and the co-founder of 374Water, a social impact, cleantech company dedicated to the commercialization of supercritical water oxidation. Dr. Deshusses interests are in novel reactors and sustainable processes for waste treatment, recalcitrant pollutant elimination and resource recovery. Dr. Deshusses holds degrees in chemical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology. He is a fellow of AAAS. He serves as the Head of Technology for 374Water.

A recipient of the Ray Cross and Regents Awards, Greg has been active in the WQA since 2004 and has served on numerous Committees and Task Forces. DJ Shannahan, MWS, CI, CCO, is owner and president of Sharp Water Culligan, with offices in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He was honored in 2008 with the WQA Regents Award and is a 2013 recipient of the WQA Key Award. DJ served as WQA president for 2020-21 and is currently a member of the WQA Board of Governors and the Water Quality Research Foundation Board of Directors.

As the Director of Technical Affairs for the Water Quality Association, Eric provides advocacy for POU/POE treatment at technical conventions, plans and coordinates the activities of the WQA Water Sciences Committee and helps the association address the technical challenges facing the drinking water treatment industry. As the Scientific Consultant for the Water Quality Research Foundation (the WQRF), Eric provides advice to their Board of Directors and plays a key role in review and prioritization of research proposals.

Paul Friot is a WQA certified MWS, CI, and CWR as well as the holder of a patent to remove arsenic from water. After running a residential water treatment dealership with his father for almost fifty years, they sold the business in 2020. Paul now offers his services as a consultant to individuals in the industry as well as homeowners who have water quality issues, to determine what works, what doesn’t and why. He has served on various technical subcommittees and is an instructor for the WQA zoom classes to prepare students to become certified.

Moti-Vitality founder and President Kelly Thompson MWS, CI, has spent over two decades in the Water Treatment Industry. Moti-Vitality specializes in hiring and training sales & management professionals specifically for the industry. Kelly is also the founder of The MV Marketplace, which sells industry-specific supplies. Kelly is the author of Flowing to Success (An Excellent Book with a Cheesy Title for the Water Treatment Sales Professional). He is a 2019 WQA Award of Merit recipient & Chair of the Professional Certification Committee. Moti-Vitality has helped hundreds of water treatment professionals achieve WQA Certification.

Marianne R. Metzger has spent the majority of her career working for a couple of laboratories in a variety of capacities from Technical Support Representative to Vice President of Sales. Most recently she has joined Resintech Inc. to head up their new laboratory services division. Marianne has presented at several National and Regional Water Quality Conferences about water testing topics and has contributed several articles to pertinent trade publications within the water treatment industry. In addition to working for laboratories, she also serves as the Executive Director of the Eastern Water Quality Association, where she assists the board of directors in developing membership through education.

Kayla Heriaud serves as the Senior Program Leader for the Water Quality Research Foundation (WQRF) , where she is responsible for reviewing industry needs for research, managing projects from inception to completion and promoting the Foundation’s key achievements. Kayla holds a Bachelor’s Degree in biology from the University of St. Francis.

With more than three decades of operational and management experience, Clifford L. Fasnacht has developed a keen sense of adaptability in the service and construction communities. As an entrepreneur who successfully built Dougherty Pump & Drilling Inc. a general engineering and service business, and Pacific Purification Inc. a service and custom manufacturing business, where he works closely with his clients to design and build products for many applications worldwide. Empathetically working to assure the client’s needs are top priorities and to create the balance they want between ideas and reality. Clifford’s attitude of no job is to small or too large, has propelled him to greater challenges. His clients have ranged from mega corporation giants who include fertilizer manufacturers, aero space companies, pharmaceutical manufactures, and water treatment companies to private home owners. Having grown up the son of a man who instilled great value learned from days of the great depression, he has the ability to design and produce products that are both effective and productive. Clifford serves on several executive boards across the nation including past president of the nationally recognized Pacific Water Quality Association (PWQA), and past president of the Central Coast Builders Association. Clifford also serves on several task forces and education committee’s for the Water Quality Association (WQA). Among his vast experience are numerous certifications and awards in the water treatment industry as well as water development, and he is also a charter member and executive board member of the California Ground Water Association (CGA), and member of several trade related organizations.

Prof. Whelton is an internationally recognized environmental engineer with more than 20 years of experience in the infrastructure and public health disciplines. By leading innovative research teams, he has advanced and positively impacted the safety of communities and workers in and outside the nation. In recent years, his team has unearthed previously undocumented human health and environmental threats associated with plastic manufacture, use, and then innovated technologies and procedures to minimize those risks. He has often been called into nationally significant disasters to provide executive level support. Some disasters include the Freedom Industries Chemical Spill, Camp Fire, Marshall Fire, and fuel contamination in Hawaii, among others. At Purdue, he founded and leads the Center for Plumbing Safety, an industrial consortium, and several multi-institution research efforts. Prof. Whelton’s leadership has positively changed how U.S. federal (EPA, CDC, NRC, NIOSH, NIST, FEMA, Army, Navy), state, county, and local government agencies act to protect health and safety. In 2022, his experience was sought by President Biden’s Administration and previously by Canadian communities and the Ministry of Health in response to wildfires.

Dr. Patrick Gurian is a professor of environmental engineering at Drexel University. He completed his doctoral studies at Carnegie Mellon University in Engineering & Public Policy and Civil & Environmental Engineering. His research interests are in quantitative microbial risk assessment and regulatory decision making under uncertainty. He serves on the editorial board of the journal AWWA Water Science and as chair of the Microbial Risk Assessment Specialty Group of the Society for Risk Analysis. His work on point of use treatment for drinking water was recognized with the Publications Award from the American Water Works Association.

Jennifer Smith is the President of Moti-Vitality, a national training and consulting company specific for the water industry. Jennifer has over 18 years in the Water Industry and is a Certified Water Specialist through the WQA. Leveraging her sales background, she works with a wide variety of water treatment companies across the US, hiring sales teams, coaching water treatment professionals on in-home sales, and assisting office personnel on best communication practices.
