My passion for water treatment has always been strong and I started my studies in Environmental Biology at Western University, London Ontario and then went on to complete my diploma in Environmental Technology at Fanshawe College with my focus being on water.  I began my career working with one of the leading UV disinfection manufacturers in North America, heading up warranty and technical support, moving into validation coordination under various third party standards, onto Corporate trainer worldwide and finally Municipal Sales in the water treatment market across Canada.  The entire water technology picture is second nature to me so decided to move into the Net Zero Water sector, focusing on rainwater harvesting, stormwater treatment, drinking water packages and greywater recycling.  Today I am the Director of Business Development for Hydraloop based out of the Netherlands.  Working with the North American team I am able to touch on certification standards, municipal regulations, and business development. I am a certified engineering technologist with OACETT and a water technology specialist with the WQA.

Before her work in the efficiency sector, Ms. Tanner worked for the U.S. and German Navies and served during the First Persian Gulf War as a shipboard operating engineer. She holds Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering from the Merchant Marine Academy and a Master of Engineering Management from the George Washington University. Ms. Tanner is a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design and Construction and a Certified Energy Manager from the Association of Energy Engineers.

His research interests are in quantitative microbial risk assessment and regulatory decision making under uncertainty. He serves on the editorial board of the journal AWWA Water Science and as chair of the Microbial Risk Assessment Specialty Group of the Society for Risk Analysis. His work on point of use treatment for drinking water was recognized with the Publications Award from the American Water Works Association.

She is also the Chair of Banner’s water infrastructure practice, the only full-service public affairs practice in DC dedicated to the water sector. Previously, Stevens served as Environmental Policy Advisor to Sen. Ben Cardin, D-MD. She staffed the Senator during the crafting and passage of the 2016 and 2018 Water Resources Development Act bills. During her seven-year tenure on Capitol Hill, Stevens was responsible for the Senate Democrats’ response to the Flint water crisis and focused most of her time on the intersection of water, equity, and affordability, and generally how to make cities and towns even better for the people who live and work there.
